MG-SOFT YANG Validator Professional Edition
The future of network management and network configuration is here!
MG-SOFT YANG Validator Professional Edition is a console application that supports performing complete validation of YANG and YIN modules and submodules from command line, e.g., a system shell or a script. By using it, you can make sure that the YANG files produced or used by your organization are completely error-free.
YANG Validator checks whether the user-supplied YANG files comply with the syntax and semantic rules defined in the YANG specification, i.e., YANG version 1.1 (RFC 7950) or YANG version 1.0 (RFC 6020) - depending on the version of YANG language used in the files. YANG Validator incorporates the same strict YANG validation engine as MG-SOFT Visual YANG Designer GUI application and produces the same validation results (Error and Warning messages) as YANG Designer application; however, it prints results to the console standard output or a file. This enables integration of YANG Validator application into automated testing environments (CI/CD).
MG-SOFT YANG Validator Professional Edition: Validating a set of YANG modules from command line (on Linux)
The software lets you specify multiple YANG and YIN files on a command line, as well as multiple directories containing YANG files to be validated. After parsing the input files, the built-in YANG validation engine thoroughly checks them for syntax and semantic inconsistencies and outputs easy-to-understand Error and Warning messages in case of inconsistencies. MG-SOFT YANG Validator goes beyond the 'standard' YANG validation offered by other products on the market and performs also a complete validation of XPath expression syntax and semantics in YANG "must" and "when" statements. All errors an warnings, as well as their references to relevant YANG specification sections are described in the User Manual that comes with the software. This lets you easily detect and solve issues in YANG data models.
MG-SOFT Visual YANG Validator is compliant with the following IETF's RFC documents: RFC 6020, RFC 6087, RFC 7950, RFC 8407 and RFC 8791.
MG-SOFT YANG Validator is a Java(TM) application that can be installed and used on 64-bit Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems with Java Runtime Environment version 8.0 (a.k.a. JRE 1.8) or later. Headless systems without a graphical user interface (e.g., Linux servers with headless Java) are also supported.
