MG-SOFT Performance Manager is a brand new, fully Web-based
performance management software package that lets you simultaneously
monitor numerous devices on the network (e.g., servers, routers,
switches, hubs, workstations,...) by using ICMP Ping and SNMPv1,
SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 protocols.
The software includes a PHP-based Web application that allows you to set up a polling configuration, as well as monitor the results by using a Web browser application. In addition to the Web-based console, the package includes a polling engine, which runs as a Windows Service and continuously polls devices on the network, detects and alarms you about network events and stores polling results in SQL database.
MG-SOFT Performance Manager MG-SOFT Performance Manager is superseding MG-SOFT SNMP MIB Query Manager application. This also means that current SNMP MIB Query Manager application users can import configuration from that implementation into the new web-based Performance Manager application (only, for security reasons, passwords for SNMPv3 authentication and privacy profiles will need to be re-entered). Besides the current device status (up/down), the software also continually monitors the latency (response times) and packet loss rates of all monitored devices, as well as the status, statistics, and utilization of all network interfaces on individual SNMP devices. On servers and Cisco devices, it also enables out-of-the-box monitoring of system resources, like the memory consumption, CPU load, and disk capacity utilization. Additionally, the software lets you monitor any parameter maintained by the monitored SNMP device. Performance Manager also lets you monitor the VoIP Quality-Of-Service metrics (on Cisco routers). The software detects and logs all significant network events and offers several mechanisms for notifying network operators about the events (e.g., by sending e-mails, executing arbitrary commands). Furthermore, Performance Manager allows you to customize pre-defined threshold-based events and lets you configure any number of user-defined events. The Web-based console lets you view the current polling results as well as a detailed history of data collected from devices in graphs and in numeric form. Individual views can easily be exported to PDF reports. Performance Manager will be, in the near future, also easily integrated with MG-SOFT Net Inspector fault management application, a scenario that effectively covers both, fault and performance network management services. In such setup, Performance Manager acquires the polling configuration (managed devices, polling profiles and strategies) from Net Inspector and starts monitoring your network performance automatically. The software runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7).
