The main window of MG-SOFT MIB Browser Professional Edition for Windows with horizontally split MIB tree and output (Query results) panels.
The main window of MG-SOFT MIB Browser Professional Edition for Mac with vertically split MIB tree and output (Query results) panels.
MG-SOFT MIB Browser Professional Edition can load any number of standard or private MIB files that were previously compiled with enclosed MG-SOFT MIB Compiler.

The Generic SNMP Trace window displays SNMP messages (including trap and inform notifications) exchanged between MIB Browser and SNMP agents. SNMP messages are displayed in raw hexadecimal dump format as well as in the decoded, human-readable format. In other words, the Generic SNMP Trace window is very useful for debugging when the SNMP agent under test does not properly respond to MIB Browser queries.
For easier management of different SNMP agents, MIB Browser lets you configure and use SNMP agent profiles. Each profile stores all parameters required for accessing and managing a particular SNMP agent on the network. SNMP agent profiles can be accessed throughout the application. Furthermore, the status icons in SNMP Agent Profiles window let you tell at a glance which SNMP agent is currently responding to SNMP queries and which is not.
In the Multiple Operations window you can add and configure any number of SNMP operations of different types (Get, GetNext, Set, Trap, etc.), and each operation can contain one or more variable bindings. Then, you can execute these operations one after another against a specified SNMP agent by clicking a single button. The status of each operation (succees, error, etc.) is displayed in the panel on the left side and the retrieved values are displayed in the lower-right window panel. The entire configuration (list of SNMP operations and variable bindings) can be saved to an XML file for later use. This functionality can significantly speed up repetitive tasks, like configuring or testing SNMP agents, etc.
Remote SNMP Agent Discovery window lets you discover responsive SNMP agents on the network. Furthermore, this window lets you select multiple discovered SNMP agents and start monitoring all of them in Info windows or create SNMP agent profiles for all discovered SNMP agents with a single command. Also, the window lets you take SNMP agent snapshots of multiple SNMP agents or select two SNMP agents and compare them in the Compare SNMP Agent Snapshots window.
Multiple Variable Bindings window lets you perform Get, GetNext, GetBulk and Set SNMP operations with multiple varbinds in PDUs, as well as send SNMP Trap and Inform notification messages containing multiple variable bindings.

Table View window lets you view SNMP tables in columnar form. MIB Browser can open any number of Table View windows.

Table View window can now operate in the Edit mode, where the user can modify values of writable objects and then send new values to the agent by performing SNMP Set operation. In a similar manner the user can add rows to SNMP tables by using the built-in Add Row function.
Info windows let you monitor values of arbitrary groups of OIDs on remote SNMP agents. MIB Browser can open a number of Info windows. Info windows can log the collected values to CSV (comma-separated value) files that can be imported to spreadsheet or database applications for further processing.
Manage Agent SNMPv3 USM Users window provides a convenient interface for managing SNMPv3 USM users on remote SNMPv3 agents. This includes 'cloning' SNMPv3 USM users, changing their secret authentication and privacy keys, as well as enabling, disabling and deleting USM users. All these operations are performed on the wire via SNMP.
Performance Graph window for graphical monitoring of numerical OID values in any number of remote SNMP agents. By touching a graph line with the mouse pointer, a bubble pop-up window displays the exact graph value at that point.
SNMP Set Window for setting values in remote SNMP agents. It provides a convenient interface for picking the relevant pre-defined values from MIB definitions.
SNMP Trap Ringer Console displays the contents of all incoming SNMP TRAP and SNMP INFORM messages. The left panel contains a list of all received SNMP Trap and Inform notifications. Clicking a notification message in the list, displays all notification message details in the right panel.
Agent Snapshot window is used for taking and viewing SNMP agent snapshots. An agent snapshot is a MIB tree-like presentation of MIB objects and MIB object instances including the syntax and values of object instances as retrieved from an SNMP agent at the given time by means of the Walk operation.

Comparing SNMP agent snapshots. MIB Browser lets you compare two SNMP agent snapshots side-by-side, showing all implemented object instances including their syntax and value. Snapshots can be taken either from two different SNMP agents or from one SNMP agent at different times.
MIB Browser Professional Simulator Edition lets you take a snapshot of an SNMP agent on the network and then simulate this agent on the computer where MIB Browser runs. Simulating means that MIB Browser runs a separate process, which listens for SNMP queries on a selected network interface and port and responds to SNMP queries, returning exactly the same OIDs and values as the "real" SNMP agent did at the time of taking its snapshot. Furthermore, the OIDs, their syntaxes and values in agent snapshot files can be edited. This way, SNMP agent developers can effectively simulate an SNMP agent even before developing one. The center section of the window displays detailed SNMP traffic and performance statistics of the simulated agent.
Prompt for OID window lets you specify any OID (even if its MIB definition is not available) and perform any SNMP query operation on the specified OID.
MIB Node Properties window displays all properties for selected MIB Tree node, as defined in the MIB definition module.
On computers with more than one network interface, the user can select through which interface MIB Browser sends out SNMP requests.
SNMP Protocol Preferences window provides an intuitive interface for configuring SNMP protocol parameters.
SNMPv3 Security Parameters window provides an intuitive interface for configuring the SNMPv3 user security parameters. MG-SOFT MIB Browser supports all SNMPv3 security modes and includes support for the CFB-AES-128 privacy protocol.
Diffie-Hellman key generator lets you generate the manager random and public numbers for performing the Diffie-Hellman key ignition operation when accessing DOCSIS-based SNMPv3 agents. |
